Take things higher with this Atlas Mountain Ultra Challenge! It’s 2 marathon distances over 2 days at your pace, set against the backdrop of North Africa’s highest mountain range. With snow-capped peaks, rugged valleys, Berber villages and a traditional Moroccan-style basecamp. This 5-day trip is action packed – a testing challenge, magnificent scenery, camping under the stars, camaraderie, full support, with the option to extend your stay in magical Marrakech afterwards. An unforgettable adventure – and an Ultra Challenge like no other!
Day 1 - DEAPARTURE
Depart UK to Marrakech

Arrival to Marrakech airport. Meet the guides then transfer to Oukaimeden. Drive south of Marrakech towards Ourika Valley. Continue on a mountain road climbing to the ski resort of Oukaimeden at 2600m. Check-in then dinner and we have a briefing with the team and Event Managers.

Day 2 - THE CHALLENGE

Short transfer to the starting point of the hike. Follow an old mining road down to the village of Tadmamte. Join the road of Asni and walk along passing Berber villages nested below the high cliffs of Oukaimeden. Lunch stop will be after Sidi Fares with its shrine built on a hill, just before the gradual uphill section offering panoramic views of the remote Oussertek valley. Arrive to the camp over the Tizi n Oukaimeden pass.

Day 3 - The Challenge

Start the walk from the camp and hike towards the high pass of Tizi n Addi (2900m). Follow a narrow mule path down to Tachedirte (2450m), the highest permanent village in the Atlas. Long descent following the remote Imnanen valley to Imsker. After lunch start the climb up the deep Ousertek valley on the north side of Oukaimeden. After few Berber villages the route goes along a juniper forest to the pass of Tizi n Oukaimeden to return back to camp.

Day 4 - MARRAKECH
FREE DAY TO EXPORE & REST

After breakfast in camp, we transfer to a hotel in Marrakech which is about a 2 hour drive, once we’ve checked in we can either rest by the hotel’s pool or wander into the medina for some sight seeing. We will all eat in the hotel’s restaurant with a final night’s celebration.

Day 5 - FLY HOME
RETURN BACK TO THE UK

Exact timings TBC however we will transfer back to the airport which is a short 15 minute journey from our hotel, for a flight back to the UK.
