… with over 32,000 adventurers taking on one of the 16 Ultra Challenge events as a Walk, Jog, or Run. We also have some exciting news!

On our ‘Ultra’ distances (100km & 50km) in 2023 – 51% of the participants were FEMALE!

Commenting on this milestone – Julian Risley (Ultra Challenge CEO) said, ‘a base 50:50 split was a quiet target that we hoped to hit this year, and once we had hit a 52% female participation figure on our Cotswold Way Ultra Challenge, we knew that our overall target was possible – and we’re proud to be the first to beat that threshold, which is a reflection of the unmatched levels of support, hospitality and camaraderie that participants get on an Ultra Challenge compared to other endurance style events  – and it’s what enables anyone & everyone to push themselves further if they’re up for a challenge’!

We’re now moving our sights to encouraging ‘YOUNG’ challengers to join us and get them out & about in the great British countryside, boost their wellbeing, and hopefully supporting good causes.

Our 2024 ambition is to treble the number of our participants aged 21 or younger – so that we get 3,000 students and young adults taking part in an Ultra Challenge event.

We are reaching out to all our charity partners who have close relationships with universities & colleges to offer a special ‘student deal’ to encourage participation and fundraising, our ‘YOUNG PERSONS DEAL’ also gives 20% OFF Self-Funding registration fees for all 100km, 50km, and 25 km Ultra Challenge events.
