Take on the ‘classic Jurassic’ scenery, sights, and climbs in our MARATHON DISTANCE CHALLENGE. Setting out from Weymouth the clockwise looped route heads along the seafront and up onto the South Dorset Ridgeway and the Hardy Way. It drops back down to the coast near Durdle Door, and it’s along the stunning coastal path with a few tough ups & downs – and a final push all the way to the Weymouth finish line!

Take on the Marathon distance (2nd ‘half of the Ultra Challenge) with on Sunday morning – or by joining someone on the Full Challenge on Saturday evening to finish with them in Bridport. From Weymouth the route heads west, tackling the far end of Chesil beach, through Abbottsbury Swannery, on to West Bay and then the final few km up to the finish line in Bridport.

Take on the Sussex Marathon Challenge on Sunday morning, or by joining someone on the Full Challenge on Saturday evening to finish with them in Brighton. From Turners Hill the route heads south through wonderful Sussex countryside, and then up & over the testing South Downs before the coast comes into view and the final few km to the Racecourse finish line in Brighton.

Takes in the tough & spectacular ‘1st Quarter’ of the Ultra Challenge – and adds a fantastic 13 km around the Ambleside area, with stunning views – to give a superb Marathon Challenge! Starting from our Kendal Base Camp (where you can camp Fri / Sat), it’s up the Long Sleddle Valley, and over the testing Garburn Pass with stunning 360 views towards Widermere, and then on to Ambleside. From here – the route explores Rydal Water’s edge and includes stunning views of ‘5 Lakes’. You’ll be rewarded with a medal, a glass of fizz, & a picnic lunch to celebrate back in Ambleside.

If a marathon is your classic distance – this is a great one! Setting out from Penrice Castle basecamp, where we have a range of camping options and hospitality. It heads out on a clockwise west loop down to Oxwich Bay & its nature reserve, joining the stunning the Wales Coast Path and along to Rhossili for a picnic lunch. We then cut inland, head back east and join the elevated Gower Way, with a final push back down to the basecamp finish line at Penrice Castle.

A new entry category – TRAILBLAZERZ® is for the more competitive runners – out first, on a clear course – aiming to complete 100 km or 50 km in less than a set ‘time goal’ – ascent adjusted for each event, and male / female.
NEW entry category for 2026, aimed at faster, ambitious runners setting off with an eye on the clock onto a clear course at the front – with 400 or so competitors of ‘mixed’ experience – 100 km & 50 km options. Trailblazerz® is for trail runners, marathon participants switching to the trails, and ambitious athletic types – with the support services, fully signed routes, medics, massage, and rest stops that Ultra Challenge® events are famous for!
