There’s a fantastic ‘Thames Path Challenge’ for you in September, with 4 EVENTS to choose from – and distance options ranging from a leisurely 10 km up to a demanding 100 km Ultra Challenge®. Take it on at your pace – with full support all the way; covered rest stops along a fully signed route; plenty of food & drink; camaraderie; a special medal – and an amazing sense of achievement as you cross your finish line.

Thames Path
Ultra Challenge®

The Main Event - in its 12th Year!

Take on England’s greatest river, with a ‘flat’ 100 km route from Putney Bridge – past Hampton Court to Runnymede at halfway. For the ‘full challenge’ – it’s on to Windsor & Eton, then through wonderful historic scenery & countryside to the lively Henley riverside finish line. With 50 km & 25 km options also, there’s an unforgettable Ultra Challenge for everyone! 

The Thames is steeped in history, and the route heads upstream from our Putney Bridge start, to a riverside finish in Henley taking in – some wonderful countryside and historic towns along the way. With marquee rest stops every ~12.5 km, stocked with food & drink – and medics and welcoming staff on hand to support you.

– Full Challenge – 100 km as a full-on ‘continuous’ challenge – Putney Bridge to Henley.

– Full ‘Daylight’ – 100 km over 2 days with overnight camping option at halfway (or book a local B&B).

– 3/4 Challenge – 72 km from Hurst Park to Henley – taking in Runnymede & Windsor.

– 1st Half – 50 km from Putney to Runnymede, taking in Richmond & Hampton Court.

– 2nd Half – 50 km – Runnymede to Henley. Also Ideal to join up with a ‘Full 100 km’ friend.

– Quarters – if 25 km is more your thing – ALL 4 are available options – and all are great!

– Transport – pre & post challenge bus transfer & parking options to make it easy!

Camping –  packages available at 50 km Runnemede halfway stop (for 2 day Daylight ‘Full Challenge’ or ‘Half Challenge’ start / finish)

Thames Bridges Trek

Zig Zag over the Thames

Trek the Capital with unrivalled views of the skyline. Setting out from Putney Bridge – it’s East towards the City, zig-zagging over 16 historic bridges, with a mid-point stop at The Oval Cricket Ground for snacks & drinks. 25 km later, beyond the majestic Tower Bridge, it’s a finish line celebration in Southwark Park, where a big cheer, some fizz, a medal, and picnic food await!

The Thames Bridges Trek is a great way to see the best of London – with magnificent cityscape views & unfolding history. Over 2,500 will take it on, there’s 10 K option, and a party style atmosphere & picnic at the finish – with plenty of time to celebrate afterwards!

25 km – as a walk / trek. Putney Bridge start (Saturday morning) – half way stop The Oval Cricket Ground – finish at Southwark Park. A great day out, and perfect for teams of friends, work colleagues, or family

10 km – as a walk / trek-   Oval Cricket Ground start (Saturday morning) – finish at Southwark Park with a picnic.

(NO running of jogging allowed on either option- WALKING ONLY).

Thames Moonlight 10 Walk

Up for an Active Friday Evening?

Kicks off the ‘festival of events’ on Friday evening from The Oval Cricket Ground. Take on a spirited 10km or energetic 10 mile looped route through the heart of London as darkness falls, passing many famous landmarks. A lively finish awaits – with some fizz, a ‘Moon medal’, some welcome hot food & drink. Perfect to join with friends after work for a Capital evening!

The ‘Moonlight 10 Walk‘ is on Friday evening, setting out from The Oval Cricket Ground. It will be a fun London evening along the Thames – and if you have the legs the local bar will be open afterwards for a bit of a celebration!

Take on an evening 10 km or 10 miles on a looped walking route – starting at The Oval. Hot food afterwards. Perfect for some exercise + some fun – ideal for groups of friends, work colleagues or family teams.

THE HENLEY 10K
... Riverside

Stretch the legs Sunday AM

A fabulous 10 km loop from the riverside finish venue of the main Thames Path Ultra Challenge, near Henley Bridge. A great ‘mini’ morning challenge to take it on at your pace – as a walk, jog, or run and get your family & friends involved. There’s a souvenir neck buff, finishers medal, glass of fizz, and an optional BBQ + a ‘Kids’ 2 K walk (with goodie bag) for the young challengers!

An action packed 10 km, with a drinks & snacks half way rest stop, and a lively atmosphere with a start / finish by the the river at the finish venue of the main Thames Path Challenge. Optional finishers meal available

It’s 10 km – as a walk, jog, or run – as an individual or as a team.

For the active young ones – there’s a ‘Kids 2K Walk’

Summer Walk

Explore the East Thames

A Marathon (42km), 25km, or 10kmWalking Challenge  – taking in some of the Capital’s historic areas and sights in the eastern section of the River Thames. A great way to get active over the Bank Holiday weekend and explore new parts of London – and to celebrate the end of summer with a BBQ and bar at the finish.

  • NEW Marathon Challenge (42km loop) Heads through the Woolwich Tunnel, and along the ‘Capital Ring’ & ‘Greenway’ to the Olympic Park. It’s down to the Thames via the Lee Valley Walk to Limehouse, past The Tower of London and across The Thames over Tower Bridge. Back along the Thames – southside – all the way past the Cutty Sark and a rest stop at the Old Naval College. Then along the Thames to the Greenwich Peninsular, past the O2, past the Thames Barrier, through Charlton, and back up to basecamp in Woolwich, where a big cheer, medal, glass of fizz, T shirts and BBQ meal await!
  • 25 km Loop Challenge – from our Woolwich basecamp adjacent to the Barracks  – around the Greenwich Peninsular – along the Thames Path – and into Docklands. Back to Woolwich via the foot tunnel. Rest stop en route with snacks & drinks – finishers BBQ.
  • NEW 10K Walk – if you’re after something a bit shorter!

Ultra Challenge®

The South Downs Way

A magnificent challenge backdrop with includes Beachy Head, Seven Sisters Country Park, Brighton sea-front, Devil’s Dyke, and a fantastic 100 km finish in historic Arundel. Whether it’s a full, half, or quarter challenge – it will be unforgettable – and a real highlight of the year!

  • Full Challenge – 100 km as a full-on ‘continuous’ challenge – Eastbourne to Arundel. New ‘ULTRA MARCH‘ Option available (100km as a walk in less than 24 hours!)
  • Full ‘Daylight’ – 100 km over 2 days – overnight camping option at the West Hove half way (or hotel / B&B)
  • 1st Half – 57 km to West Hove, taking in the Seven Sisters Park and Brighton.
  • 2nd Half – 43 km – West Hove to Arundel. Also Ideal if you want to join up with a Full Challenge friend.
  • Quarters – 1st 25 km option includes Seven Sisters Park – Alfriston finish.

Chiltern 50
Ultra Challenge®

Henley Basecamp

A great way to end the season, with extra hospitality to turn it into a celebration. The route will surprise some as it’s rural, scenic, and varied – and all quite close to London & accessible. Why not join us? 

– 50 km – to Henley and on to Lewknor at half way. Nature reserves, Chiltern Hills, great views, and back to the Henley basecamp.

– 25 km – There’s a loop via The Thames & Henley, with a rest stop, and back to basecamp for a BBQ. Note – Ist & 2nd Half of full 50 km route are also available options.

– Chiltern 10K – a fantastic looped route from our Basecamp area up into the surrounding woodland & hills on the estate trails – with fantastic views.

Virtual Challenge – perfect for friends & family to get involved – or anyone who’s up for a challenge!

– Transport – we have a range of pre & post challenge bus transfers & parking options to make it easy for you to join!

Camping –  packages available at the Henley Showground start / finish basecamp.

KENT DOWNS 50
Ultra Challenge®

Maidstone Basecamp

A great way to end the season, with extra hospitality to turn it into a celebration. The route will surprise some as it’s rural, scenic, and varied – and all quite close to London & accessible. Why not join us? 

50 km Loop – (With ‘Ultra March’ Option also)

From basecamp it’s anticlockwise around the Kent Downs. Heading out on the North Downs Way to Blue Bell Hill and around to the picturesque village of Aylesford one of the River Medway’s hidden jewels. The route follows the River Medway to Maidstone and through Mote Park –  along the Len Valley Walk to Leeds Castle where it turns to re-join the North Downs Way and back to the Kent Showground.

25 km Loop

Sits within the 50km loop and splits off at the picturesque village of Aylesford one of the River Medway’s hidden jewels heading east on Augustine Camino to Detling via Boxley and back to the Kent Showground. 

10 km Loop

sits within both the 50km and 25km loop and splits off at the Pilgrim Way returning to Detling via Boxley and back to the Kent Showground. You’ll be rewarded with a medal, glass of fizz & discounted hot meal to celebrate your achievements.
