Bookable extras are designed to make the planning for your challenge as easy as possible -providing options for your joining & leaving arrangements, and are summarised below. As some participant’s travel & logistics may involve parking, transfers, and maybe camping  – please check that the combination you book makes sense!

OPTIONAL SERVICES

Dunster (basecamp)– MAIN START/FINISH VENUE

Friday night before your challenge. Suits ALL who are starting on Saturday morning

Saturday night is bookable for all wanting to stay the night post finish.

INCLUSIVE PACKAGES OR ‘PITCH ONLY’ OPTION (including Campervans) ARE AVAILABLE

Parking for your vehicle is available at :

  • The Major Dunster Start / Finish Venue
  • Supporter Parking Pass – so friends / family can park at Dunster (basecamp).

Shuttle busses to help with your logistics:

  • Transfer to the main Dunster start venue from Taunton train station.
  • Transfer to your start line at Porlock

After your challenge:

  • Transfer from your finish to Taunton train station or back to Dunster (basecamp)

Friday Night – a vendor will be on site selling snacks for anyone staying at Dunster (basecamp) on Friday night.

Saturday Morning Breakfast – buy on the day from our Catering Partners – Extreme Hospitality at Dunster.

Dunster 10K Meal – If  you have taken part in the Dunster 10k there is an option to book a hot meal post challenge.

NO NEED TO PRE BOOK – AND IS AVAILABLE ON THE DAY AT YOUR START (Pay cash or Card)

  • Store your bag at Dunster (basecamp)
  • Or transfer your bag from your start to your finish

Parking is available at the main venues.

All weekend at Dunster (basecamp):

Saturday 6am – 11pm

Ideal for challengers starting/ finishing at Dunster (basecamp).

Supporters can book a day pass for parking at Dunster (basecamp).

Camping - Friday &/or Saturday

Camping available at our Dunster basecamp for Friday &/or Saturday night – with single & twin share options

Inclusive Packages – with pre pitched tent & roll mat – (you bring a sleeping bag & other equipment). Parking is included in your package.

Pitch Only Option – bring your own tent or campervan (+ all equipment). Parking included in your package.

If booking both Friday & Saturday night, you will be able to book this via the form and a discount will be applied when booking.

You will be able to add on extra campers to your Pitch ONLY/Campervan option under the same booking. Make sure you look for the Extra Campers’ option under the location where you want to camp on the booking form 

Hot showers, rest area, changing rooms, & hot drinks included

Friday night – suitable for anyone starting in Duster

Saturday night – for all participants after finishing

NOTE – A vendor will be on site selling snacks for anyone staying at Dunster (basecamp) on Friday night.

NO DOGS – pets are strictly not permitted on any of our venues, including the campsite

Spacious 2-man tent & roll mat all set up and ready for you. You need to bring a sleeping bag & other equipment. Includes parking.

Roomy 3-man tent & roll mats all set up and ready for you – plenty of space for 2 people and bags! Includes parking.

Reserve a space for your tent or campervan. You’ll have access to hot showers, toilets & other facilities. Includes parking.

Reserve a spot on an already booked Pitch/Campervan on our campsite. (Please ensure when booking for extra campers you have already purchased a Pitch/Campervan space).

Please select how many additional people per Pitch/Campervan (max 3 people added per pitch / 4 in total under the same booking).

You will have access to hot showers, toilets & other facilities.

Pre Challenge Transfers

We’ve a range of shuttle services to take you to your start line, before your challenge. Taunton Station is the closest rail link to Dunster basecamp (it’s on the Great Western line).

Ideal for all starting in Dunster.

From Taunton train station to Dunster basecamp. This service will run:

  • Friday – set departure time at either 4pm or 7pm 
  • Saturday – set departure time at 6.30am

Ideal for 2nd Half Challengers

From Dunster (basecamp) > finish to Porlock (start). This service will run:

  • Saturday ONLY once – set departure time at 8.30am 

Post Challenge Transfers

We’ve a range of shuttle services to take you where you need to go after your challenge.

Ideal for anyone finishing at Dunster (basecamp)

To Taunton Station – operating regular service, although there may be a wait at quiet times (up to 2 hours), during the hours:

  • Saturday  – 1pm – last train
  • Sunday – 8am for those camping Saturday night.

Ideal for 1st Half  Challengers

Transfer from your finish in Porklock back to Dunster basecamp – operating regular service, although there may be a wait at quiet times (up to 1 hours), during the hours:

  • Saturday  – midday till 6pm

Baggage service

Store your bag with us or transfer it to your finish line for a change of clothes or shoes, extra layers for after your challenge, or those extra post event snacks you can’t do without!

Please note the max weight limits. These are strict and bags will be weighed. Quoted prices are per bag.

Baggage services will be paid in cash/card on the day and you cannot pre book.

Ideal for all Challengers.

Store your bag safely at the start in Dunster (basecamp).

Ideal for Half (25km) Challengers.

Transfer your bag (max 20kg) from your start to your finish.

For all official Runners (ie  confirmed as a Runner on entry & dressed as such on the day) – our kit drop service will store a small (5kg max) bag for you to keep safe during your challenge:

If you have a ‘heavy’ bag (or a 2nd bag) – this must be booked in and paid for via the other baggage service options.
