Somerset’s spectacular coastline and Exmoor National Park took centre stage this weekend as over 1,000 walkers, joggers, and runners took on the 2026 South West Coast 50 Ultra Challenge. With 50km, 25km, and 10km routes available, all our Challengers took on challenging but incredibly scenic routes and showed real determination throughout the day.
The event’s basecamp next to Dunster Castle provided the perfect start and finish line for our Challengers, before sweeping sea views, rugged coastline, and rolling moorland kept our Challengers pushing themselves further on the course. Highlights included summiting Dunkery Beacon, the charming town of Porlock on route, and of course spectacular views along the South West Coast Path.

Ultra Challenge is truly there for every single participant, with finish times on the 50km ranging from 4 hours and 40 minutes, to upwards of 16 hours. However you choose to take on the Challenge, we will support you every step of the way around.
Special thank you to our fantastic fundraisers, collectively raising more than £200,000 for more than 100 charities across the UK and local region.

The South West Coast 50 Ultra Challenge is an incredible choice for a Challenge to push yourself further and take on testing climbs & technical descents, but with the most spectacular views the English coastline has to offer. This Challenge is an absolute must on any Challengers checklist.
