We’re thrilled to introduce Ultra Trailblazerz®, a brand-new event category on all 50km and 100km Challenges in 2026. Ultra Trailblazerz is designed for runners looking to take their running to the next level. Whether you are experienced on the trails, or a seasoned road runner searching for a new adventure, the Trailblazerz event package will support you every step to the finish line.
Trailblazerz will aim to finish under the course-specific ‘Time Goal‘, tailored to reflect the exact distance, elevation, and difficulty of terrain. Those who reach this goal will earn a special edition Ultra Trailblazerz® medal to mark their incredible performance on the trails.
Our Ultra Trailblazerz® package includes;
- Dedicated refuelling and hydration stations closer to the course than our usual Rest Stops.
- Carbohydrate-rich and electrolyte-based nutrition to support rapid turnarounds and sustained energy.
- A full finisher’s hot meal to celebrate your achievement and start the recovery process.
- On-course and finish line massage & podiatry.
- Bag transfer to 50km and 100km to access your own equipment on course.
- Automatic uploads to the UTMB Index and International Trail Running Association so you can further your trail running journey!
- Unique Ultra Trailblazerz® medal, plus prize money, trophies, and free entries for top performers.
Anyone who breaks a course record will receive £500 in prize money, with trophies awarded to the first male and female finishers, and free entry to any 2027 event for the top three finishers of each category. A full list of official course records will be published onto the website soon – keep an eye on our socials for when this goes live!
As usual, you can enter with full or mixed charity sponsorship to fundraise for your charity of choice. The scale of an Ultra Challenge® is truly fantastic for gaining fundraising traction and bringing awareness to an important cause. Why not trailblaze and fundraise!
Ultra Trailblazerz® is built to celebrate ambitious trail runners pushing themselves further – but in true Ultra Challenge® style, it remains open, inclusive, and fully supported. If event day doesn’t go your way and the ‘Time Goal’ is out of reach, you will of course still receive a huge Ultra Challenge® welcome at the finish line with a medal, t-shirt, & glass of fizz. To be in with a chance of winning the special Ultra Trailblazerz® medal though, you must enter the event as a Trailblazer.
