CHALLENGE COMPLETE!
We’ve handpicked a selection of Great British Trails to help you shake off the festive celebrations, stretch your legs, and embrace a more active lifestyle in the year ahead. Choose from six historic challenge routes, ranging from the famous 100 km Hadrian’s Wall National Trail, up to the epic 1000 km South West Coastal Path. Take on your challenge by walking, jogging, or running – anywhere at anytime – from January to the end of March ’25.
Track your progress along our ‘Virtual Map’ of the trails and share your challenge journey & stories online with others. There are prize draws for everyone making it half way by 28th February. Fundraise for a charity of your choice if you wish to, and there’s an optional ‘GB Trails’ medal & neck buff, with a certificate for all finishers.
How it works...
Track your progress online
Once signed up to your chosen Trail, you can link up to our Great Britain Map with STRAVA / GARMIN / FITBIT within your Ultra Britain Account (so your activities automatically feed on to our map). Alternatively, you can add activities manually. Each time an activity is logged you’ll progress along your route along with other participants.
You have until 31th March ’25 to complete your Challenge and we’ll send you a special post card once you’ve made it! Start from 1st January onwards, and anyone can join until to 31 Jan ’25.

SW Coastal Path
1000 km
England’s longest National Trail – from Minehead in Somerset, to Poole Harbour in Dorset. Some complete it in a month, others do it in sections over years. You have 3 months max – anywhere, anytime!
2
North Coast 500
800 km
Winding through the rugged Highlands of Scotland, and starting from Inverness, the landscape morphs from rolling hills, golden beaches, to dramatic cliffs – punctuated with medieval castles and ancient legends.
3
The Orange Way
600 km
Follow in the footsteps of history along the route marched by Prince William of Orange and his invading army in 1688 from Brixham in Devon to London – as England’s ‘Glorious Revolution’ unfolded.
4
The Pennine Way
450 km
Steeped in history and England’s first National Trail. The challenging route follows a rocky spine of hills from the Peak District & Yorkshire Dales, over Hadrian’s Wall and on to the Scottish Borders.
5
Offa's Dyke
300 km
Heading north from Chepstow along the Wales/England border, the trail shadows the 8th century earthworks, constructed by King Offa of Mercia, and follows the Wye Valley & crosses the Black Mountains.
