Updated for our 2024 Ultra Challenge series, welcome to the 'go-to' resource for everything charities need to promote the Series. An Ultra Challenge is a simple concept - choose your distance - and take it on at your pace as a walk, jog, or run. However, the longer distance options (especially 100 km) may appear a daunting prospect to many, and to counter that it's important to get across the style of the events - particularly the fantastic level of support participants receive. From free snacks, drinks, & meals at covered rest stops with medical & massage services, to baggage transfers, shuttle busses and camping options - it's this 'full support' which enables fairly normal people to 'push themselves further', and it's the longer challenge distances which generate the high levels of fundraising that are possible with an Ultra Challenge compared to most events. By using the resources provided, and following our Promotion Guidelines, you'll give your charity the best chance of maximising the return from these events.

WORKING WITH US IN 2024...

The latest estimate. from our fundraising partner JustGiving,  is that the 2023 Ultra Challenge Series raised over £7.5 million for over 400 different UK Charities (and that’s excluding Gift aid). Join us in 2024 and your charity could benefit from this extraordinary level of fundraising these events generate!
We have confirmed for 2024 our Series Partners, however spaces on our other partnership levels are still available – meaning your charity can work with us, and promote to your fundraisers the UK’s best endurance events – hassle free, risk free & high reward! 

Our 12 Series Partner spots have already been bagged, by long standing partners whom have worked with us for many years. Our Series Partnership requests are now closed for 2024. 

A Challenge Partner will be promoted alongside a specific event, or set of events – with additional marketing support from us, and featured listing on our website – to increase sign up potential.

Packages include:

  • Up to 10 Challenge Partners per event
  • Fundraisers receive 50% discount on registration fees
  • Physical presence on event – branding & attendance
  • Up to x10 staff places per partnered event

In 2023 Challenge Partners, on average, saw a 50% increase in their fundraisers since 2022 (including both existing partners who have renewed & those who upgraded from Associate Partner & Listed Charity). 

Fees for Challenge Partnerships start at £1,000 per event, with discounts for multiple event partnerships.

Associate Partners pay a one off annual fee for prominence & presence across each and every event page – with a 25% discount off registration fees for your charity fundraisers. 

An Associate Partner will receive:

  • High presence across each event page
  • Discounted registration fees for participants
  • 1 free staff place per event 
  • Additional marketing support & Account Management 

 

Becoming a Listed Charity means just that – we will list your charity on the Ultra Challenge website and registration forms, available for fundraisers to select and support. You will get access to our Charity Area, filled with useful guides and resources to help you promote the Series and get more fundraisers signed up. And we will share your fundraiser data with you via a secure reporting portal.

There is no fee for being a Listed Charity, it’s a great risk free opportunity for small ‘start up’ charities to promote & push 1st class events – with no commitment or initial outlay.

REGISTER YOUR CHARITY
for the 2024 series

We are excited to launch the 2024 Ultra Challenge Series, if your charity is not listed with us & you would like to be part of the Ultra Challenge Series, have a read through the Charity Brochure and complete the Charity Registration Form. If you have been a partner with us in 2023 & would like to renew your partnership for 2024 please complete the form below.

the FUNDRAISER PORTAL

Your Ultra Challenge fundraisers will be shared with your charity via a secure online portal, which allows you to track, manage & report on all of your fundraisers. We have a separate online portal for both your 2023 and 2024 challengers, meaning that you can easily keep a track of them. 

Only charities that have registered with us and have a fundraiser signed up (for that year i.e. 2024) can expect to recieve a notification from us with the details of how you can log into your portal.

We update all registrations into the portal once a week.

Once you have your first fundraisers registered for the Ultra Challenge Series, you will be sent an email notification with your log in details for the reporting portal link. Via this portal you can see who has signed for each challenge, their funding option, distance, fundraising target, 50% fundraising target deadline, cost to the charity and fundraiser contact details so you can begin stewardship. This portal will be updated weekly with new registrations. 

Once you have been sent an email notification of your first fundraiser, you must login to your charity portal and ‘acknowledge’ any fundraisers listed on there. Doing this lets us know that you are aware of them, have/are making an effort to contact them, and you are offering them fundraising stewardship.

Once you have been sent your fundraiser info, you should focus on supporting their fundraising – ensuring they are on track to meet their 50% minimum target (3 weeks before each challenge). 5 weeks before each challenge, we will ask you to let us know if you are not happy to cover the cost of anyone’s place (ie: if they haven’t done any fundraising!), and this can be done via the reporting portal. This means you will only be invoiced for fundraisers who have met their 50% minimum fundraising targets.

You may receive requests from your fundraisers to make changes to their registrations. Please be aware that that there is an admin fee that a participant must pay to request a change to their registration.

A RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

The documents linked here have been created to act as a “best practice” guide for charities promoting the Ultra Challenge Series. We have worked with hundreds of UK charities, and we know the recipe for success when it comes to promoting these events.
Please read through the relevant guide thoroughly before listing the challenges on your charity website. We offer our challenges as walks, jogs and runs, so please make sure you are clear fundraisers can walk, jog or run the full 100km, 50km or 25km. These are inclusive and accessible challenges, open to people of all abilities.

MAKE SURE YOU DO IT CORRECTLY!

We instruct our participants, who sign up to a Charity fundraising option on an Ultra Challenge, to set up a sponsorship page via JustGiving – under the correct event page that we’ve already set up. This is achieved by sending them the appropriate link. If you are sending ‘links’ / instructions out to your fundraisers – please use the links from the Ultra Challenge event list here. We do NOT want to confuse participants by sending out contradictory messages – or making it difficult to reconcile data between your charity and ourselves.

Corporate teams are a great way for charities to generate unrestricted income, and help foster long-term partnership between charities and businesses. Ultra Challenges are a great choice for corporate teams looking to get outdoors and take on a challenge together.

We take care of all the planning & logistics, and the entry includes food, snacks & drinks plus great support along the route. Whether to company will cover the entire entry fee or part of it – we can build a bespoke package for corporate teams, including a generous discount – plus a private registration link and optional hospitality facilities on the day.
