Ultra Challenge® is the UK’s #1 Series of trekking & trail challenge events, with 40,000 participants taking part, and raising over £11 million for our charity partners each year. The events have a reputation as the ‘best’ – and you can become part of a special team!
Our Challenge Crew deliver exceptional experiences – with 20 unique events during our season. There’s a range of roles for those with previous event experience, or wanting to get involved in the world of outdoors events – or for anyone who’s after an interesting & worthwhile weekend volunteering!
For recent graduates, or sandwich placement students, who can demonstrate a passion for the events, charity fundraising, or sporting sectors. You’ll gain experience of marketing, customer services, planning, and operations as we work towards delivering our Ultra Challenge® Series. Alongside week days at our Woolwich office – there’s the opportunity to work on the events with our experienced teams.
We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Senior Event Managers to take a leading role in the delivery, and on event management and operating of our Ultra Challenge Series. The successful candidates will be comissioned for on event roles across the UK delivery both the 2026 and 2027 events, with opportunities for “off season” planning, reccee and project work to help us lead and grow the series of the events.
We’re looking for enthusiastic individuals for event weekends. It can be fun and hugely rewarding – from helping to set up the rest stops, serving cups of tea & snacks, welcoming in challengers, or driving support vehicles – you’ll never have a mundane weekend! Fancy joining us and gaining some fantastic, meaningful, experience in the world of outdoor events? Or you may be a current participant wanting to help out on the other side of the setup – and earn ‘Challenge Credits‘!
Our Cheer Squad are an amazing bunch of energetic, passionate, and fun individuals – many of whom have taken part in Ultra Challenges, and are now using their energy to motivate others. We want to boost the ‘Squad’ – and if you can give a few hours, a full day, or a weekend to help create that special finish-line experience – handing out medals & cheering them in – this maybe for you!
‘I started competing in the Ultra Challenges, and after taking in part in a few I decided to join the Cheer Squad to help and celebrate others achieving their goals. The atmosphere is always amazing, and it’s like being part of a big family – I’ve made friends for life through being part of the Ultra Challenges.
Trek Masters are fit & active volunteers helping others along the courses, bringing their own deep experience of Ultra Challenge® events and a passion for helping others. As a Trek Master you’ll be part of a close knit team, allocated a section of the route to patrol, or to lead groups of participants when the going gets tough – and to support our safety teams during the day or night.
